MINUTES OF SELECTMEN MEETING – May 2, 2016 5:00 PM

Minutes of the previous meeting were read and accepted.
Stephen and Elaine Strinie of 59 Slope Road are looking for the status of their Zoning Board of Appeals application. Sue Voudren, Town Clerk spoke to Tolland’s legal counsel for clarification of the Mass General Law. The law gives the board 100 days to address the application. If the application is not addressed within the 100 days the applicant is required to follow the process that the board would. Eric will contact the Board of Appeals.
Ed Deming, Police Chief received 4 Police Officer applications. The interview process will include a Police Chief from another town. With the current backup Officer’s having limited availability Chief Deming would like to hire additional backup Officer’s. Tolland will have 3 scheduled Officer’s. The Board of Selectmen approved of backup Officer’s with the stipulation that all Officers are required to patrol.
The board approved Department of Public Works hours to be 6:30AM-2:30PM.
